SpinPro Dynamic Flow Reactors

SpinPro reactors are unique as they grant independent control over both mixing intensity and production capacity. The rapidly rotating disc in a very narrow housing generates very high shear forces and extremely intense turbulence. This will shorten production times from many hours in batch to mere seconds in flow.

A range of options is available; higher pressures, higher temperatures, ATEX and GMP. We offer several setups, complete with dosing systems. With our process development support we can assist you with continuous processing.

Application Examples

Six reaction families

Flowid
  • 01Multiphase reactionsGas/liquid, gas/aqueous/organic. We implemented the gas/liquid processes in production, using the following gasses: O2, Cl2, CO, CO2, H2S, HCl, SO2, NH3.
  • 02Organometallic chemistrySafe handling of chemicals like Butyllithium, Hexyllithium and Grignard.
  • 03NitrationAccurate thermal control allows nitration to be processed safely and effectively. Selective mononitrations, highly controlled deltaT (within 1 °C), inline quenching, both single and biphasic nitrations.
  • 04HalogenationChlorination (G/L) and Bromination (L/L).
  • 05PrecipitationUp to generating 50%-v/v solids.
  • 06Controlled emulsificationGenerate stable emulsions in seconds.

Every one of these is toxic, corrosive or an asphyxiant. In flow the reactive inventory is millilitres, not cubic metres — which is what makes running them in production economic and safe.
